This is one of my most recent landscapes. It’s a result of wildfires and a pandemic. You can see the affect of the fires on these trees, three years later. Because of the pandemic, we were looking for new places to walk. And, because of the pandemic, I had lots and lots of spare time – enough to paint every single tree and every single branch of every single tree.

Paintings of Water
I’ll never be a good swimmer, I tend to flounder more than swim. But looking at water, being near it, always calms me. The first time I was happy with a painting I did of water, I thought “Now I know how to paint water!” That was an incredibly naïve thought. Water is never the same from one place or moment to the next. EVERY water painting is a new challenge.
